The items I would like to purchase wholesale are fake flowers and medium sized metal buckets. (Normally found in the NYC dollar stores for a dollar a piece; but I would like I purchase these at wholesale prices.)
Where is the wholesale district in Manhattan, NYC?
It depends exactly what you%26#039;re looking for, but the general wholesale area is the Herald Square district, which is 32nd street and below, for about 4 or 5 blocks, from 7th Avenue to 5th Ave.

Are there any products today that cannot be purchased online?
Consumers can purchase tennis shoes, computers, food, flowers, boats and even insurance in the internet. Are there any products today that cannot be purchased online? What is the implication of this to the traditional retailers?
Are there any products today that cannot be purchased online?
You may not sell animals or products from animals on Ebay. Which might include, elephant tusks, ivory , claws, animal skins, fur.
But this applies to Ebay. Other sites do allow these items.
Reply:If there is a product you cant buy online I wouldnt know what it would be. This is sending a clear message to alot of retail shops . If your shop isnt online then then you need to be! Good Luck

Good ways to cut costs on a wedding...know any, I am getting killed here???
We have already cut the limos out, a friend is officiating the wedding for free %26amp; the bridesmaids are purchasing their own flowers since I am not making them buy certain bridesmaids dresses. Any suggestions on where to cut costs in other places?
Good ways to cut costs on a wedding...know any, I am getting killed here???
- don%26#039;t spend lots of $$ on favors..most people leave them behind anyways
-make your own wedding centre pieces
- make your own invitations
- have a buffet if it%26#039;s cheaper then a sit down meal
- have a friend or relative take your wedding photos.. i know lots of my family took awesome wedding photos (plus they tend to get the candid shots that a pro. wouldn%26#039;t..)
- have a cash bar instead of an open bar (it will also help to keep people sober during your special day)
- have a friend provide you with music (make lots of cd%26#039;s ahead of time...)
**check out ebay for items you might need. i got my cake server set, my cake topper, my favors, my garter, unity candles..... all off ebay (for cheaper then i could find anywhere else!!)
- check out places like the $ store for stuff. some carry decent ring bearer pillow, decorations, guest books....
- if you know someone who is good at organizing flower boquets ask them to do your flowers for you.. buy them in bulk at costco or somewhere and then make what you want.. my sister did that for me and it saved me over $2000 in flowers!
- have a friend or family make your cake (or cupcakes) it will be more personal and save you $$$
TAKE YOUR TIME and decide what you NEED vs WANT...
Reply:The biggest chunk of your expenses is the food. Have a buffet or a lunch (get married earlier). Only serve champagne for the toast, have a cash bar or temporary bar (beware some people see as tacky), small show cake (to cut) and sheet cake in the kitchen that%26#039;s eaten. Try to get married %26quot;off season%26quot;.
Reply:Do you know someone who%26#039;s a photographer? Maybe a dj? My good friend is an amateur dj and comedian so it worked out perfect that he%26#039;d dj and mc our wedding. Also, I%26#039;m having an afternoon wedding (lunch time), so that cut costs too.
Reply:Don%26#039;t bother with the wedding.
Reply:Use the internet to shop around a lot. My wife found a ton of good prices by shopping around. It does take time to do but it is worth it in the end.
Reply:The #1 way to cut costs of a wedding is to reduce the guest list.
Other than that, my advice would be to DIY as much as possible!
Reply:You can ask someone who has a nice digital camera to do the photos, go to the $99 sale at David%26#039;s Bridal for the dress. You can just carry one flower instead of a whole bouquet (and yoru bridesmaids can too as a matter of fact - like in Friends when Monica gets married). You can just do Hershey%26#039;s kisses wrapped in that netting so that shouldnt%26#039; be too expensive for favors. And you can get invitations this week at Michaels%26#039;, only $20 per $50 invitations.
Reply:-Cut on the guest list
-Cake from walmart
-DYI print at home invitation from walmart or AC moores
-No favors, no programs
-Buy decor online (www.orientaltrading.com)
-Centerpieces from Dollar general
-Have a dry reception. No alcohol. Just a toast (to cut even more costs, toast with sparkling cider)
-Have a brunch reception, or cake and taost reception, dessert reception, or hors d%26#039;ouvres reception, where only finger food and cake would be served.
-Have it at mid-morning or mid-afternoon , so a full meal is not expected.
-A DYI BBQ is budget friendly.
-Use a fellowship hall at the chuch were your family attends, VFW or local park.

There are many ways to save:
~ Make your own (or at least print your own) invitations. You can get a box of 50 for $25 at Target, even less at Walmart and Michael%26#039;s if you use their coupon. There may be other discount stores where you live also.
~ Take advantage of any %26quot;Dollar%26quot; Stores in your area. Get the guest book there.
~ Make your own centerpieces very cheaply. Again, at dollar stores or Walmart you can find cheap bowls. Fill a little with %26quot;colored glass gems%26quot; (at those stores as well) and float some candles (again, at dollar stores and Walmart.)
~ Photography: This is usually a big expense but one that you may possibly want to keep. If all your local professional photographers are really out of site price wise, and if you live near a campus, see if there is a photography student that is willing to do this. They will be lots cheaper than a professional.
~ Reception: Have a buffet.
~ Cake: Get it at a grocery store, Costco, or Walmart. These are just as yummy as bakery ones (and, actually fresher!) OR, have someone make cupcakes from a cake mix.
~ Don%26#039;t try to do everything YOURSELF! I read once where a girl enlisted all those that said %26quot;if you need any help, let me know.%26quot; She said is was the best wedding as EVERYONE had a stake in it. Maybe you can do something like that.....if someone is willing to make the cake as their gift....let them. Someone willing to do the centerpieces as their gift....again, let them! You could go on and on to include food to photography, to the DJ!
~ Favors: Don%26#039;t do them, unless it is something really cheap....like a few Hershey Kisses wrapped in tulle and tied with a small silk ribbon. Favors most definitely should be eliminiated if you are on a tight budget.

Reply:If you are getting a DJ, only book him for the minimum 2-3 hours. Then once he is there pay him extra to stay. This is cheaper because this money goes directly into his pocket so it is less than if you book him for say 5-6 hours. (That is what we did, saved us $250.00). We were also able to do that with the photographer but that was because we a photographers assistant doing the photos.
Also, you can handmake a lot of the favors rather than buying them which saves on money. Same goes with centerpieces.
We also had the reception in the backyard of my parent home which saved tons of money. We got a tent, built a floor using plywood (which we later resold and made back 80% of the costs) rented tables, chairs and a bautiful archway, and got plenty of food platters from our local store, fried chicken, ham and two potatoes and saved about $10,000.00 than what the local venues wanted. Plus people loved the atmosphere and the fact that it was a little more relaxed and not stuffy.
Good Luck!
Reply:My husband and I had our wedding during the day, the ceremony was at 10:40 am and the reception started around 1:30.. Since we didn%26#039;t have much money to spend on unnecessary things we bought my husband a black suit (no tuxes, since it was not this formal), his best man also wore only a black suit he owned.. your husband will have opportunities to wear this suit forever;
My sister, who was my Maid of Honor bought her own dress, I gave her freedowm to buy whatever she wanted in exchance..
One of my aunts is very good at baking so I asked her to bake a wedding cake for us - you would have never known that it wasn%26#039;t a professional wedding cake; other relatives brought cake and pastries as well
We designed the invitations ourselves; we bought marble paper, ribbon and my Dad designed the invotation on the computer
My sister volunteered to design the table cards, and they were just amazing
The restaurant we had our reception at offered complementary deco service with flowers and centerpieces
We didn%26#039;t give out wedding favors since most people leave them behind anyways (who wants champagne glasses or napkins with our names on them??)
My husband plays in a band and the pianist volunteered to play at our wedding for free (open bar)
I think we saved quite some money on all that, the wedding reception itself cost us about $840 for about 30 people
Reply:My sister recently tied the knot and she did a lot of cost cutting. For instance, she had the wedding in her back yard. I%26#039;m not sure the postition you are in but she just had to have it @ home. Not a lot to spend there!! Instead of having the wedding catered we had certain people bring covered dishes and trust me, we had a lot of leftovers!! The maid of Honor and brides maids all purchased their own dresses and we all did our hair and make-up ourselves! We also had about 6 people bring digital cameras instead of hiring a photographer...and the pictures came out great. Another idea is to purchase throw away cameras and put them on each table to have your guests take pictures. This is a great way to save money. Good Luck!!
Reply:It cost us maybe $500 on our wedding. My aunt (who is a notary) married us, bought a prom dress for me that looked like a wedding dress, went to a craft store for all the wedding stuff. Flowers, bubbles (instead of rice or bird seed) and rented an outside place to actually have the wedding. Talk to your church about having the reception at there bingo/meeting hall and some of the people there maybe the ladies there will cook some food (they did for us)
Reply:Cut out the booze. Cut the guest list. Cut the DJ and have a friend do that with a laptop or Ipod. Do a buffet instead of sit-down dinner. Drop the favors (unneeded). Don%26#039;t pay for guests%26#039; hotel stays. Don%26#039;t give expensive gifts to the wedding party. Fake flowers instead of real ones. Only have a cake reception or hors d%26#039;oeurves instead of a meal. Have the wedding during the %26quot;off-season.%26quot; Have the groom wear a nice suit and tie instead of a tux.
Best wishes!!!

Good Luck!
Reply:My husband and I had our wedding during the day, the ceremony was at 10:40 am and the reception started around 1:30.. Since we didn%26#039;t have much money to spend on unnecessary things we bought my husband a black suit (no tuxes, since it was not this formal), his best man also wore only a black suit he owned.. your husband will have opportunities to wear this suit forever;
Reply:Elope then have a nice party later.

How do I punch a drainage hole in ceramic flower pots?
I purchased some ceramic flower pots at the dollar store and they have no drainage hole, suprise, suprise!! I have already tried drilling a hole with a masonry bit and got nowhere. My dad said ceramic is too hard and i will just dull the bit or ruin the motor with the drill and said to try to chizel a hole. Would this work or is there another way?
How do I punch a drainage hole in ceramic flower pots?
Sometimes it%26#039;s hard to poke holes in those without cracking them. I%26#039;d suggest placing stones on the bottom to elevate the root system instead. That way the water can situate itself around the stones and still prevent root rot. Another important question though is what kind of plant it is?? Cacti, make sure you water very minimally under those curcumstances (less than once a week!) and tropical plants, don%26#039;t pour so much water in per watering that you cover the rocks on the bottom.
Reply:I can%26#039;t recommend chiseling a hole, it will likely shatter the pot.
First I%26#039;d attempt to use the drill you already tried, but I would proceed by first re-sharpening the drill bit using a grinder to provide a good edge, then I would find a %26quot;hammer-drill%26quot;. Borrow one from a friend, they are common but not everyone has one and to buy one for just the one project doesn%26#039;t make sense.
A hammer drill produced low impact while rotating the drill bit. I%26#039;ve used them with great success on many other types of projects like drilling in hard, solid rock, using a standard masonry drill bit.
Adding a little water to lubricate and cool the drilling process may help.
Reply:Here%26#039;s what worked for me:
A while age, I got a ceramic pot with a plant inside of a plastic liner. Later on, I wanted to use the ceramic pot for a flowerpot.
Fortunately, under the ceramic glaze, the pot was red clay. I just turned the pot over and used my Phillip%26#039;s screwdriver to hand-screw a hole through the bottom. Just a bit of pressure caused the point to penetrate the glaze. Then I just kept twisting the screwdriver from side to side until the screwdriver came through the other side. It didn%26#039;t crack because I was careful not to apply too much pressure at once. Hope this helps.
Reply:Those are for looks only. We are suppose to put a pot of flowers down in the ceramic pots. When it is time to water the plant, take the flowers%26#039; pot out of the ceramic pot, water well in the sink, then return it to the ceramic pot.
Reply:MMMMmmmmmmm...There are bits out there that work, just make sure it%26#039;s made to drill through ceramic. It will be a bit spendy, should have saved the hassle and extra cost by going to Lowes or HomeDepot and gotten your pots there with holes....much cheaper. GOOD LUCK?
Reply:use a plastic insert, don%26#039;t put the dirt in there.

Any advise on a new House with a ugly yard.?
I just bought a house and the yard needs a lot of help. any pointers on certain plants and flowers i can purchase to make it look good. nothing too exspensive, but nothing that is ugly looking. thanx
Any advise on a new House with a ugly yard.?
Lucky you...a new house and a world full of new landscaping possibilities! There are two things you need to determine that will impact everything you do...soil type and Zone. Anytime I lay out a new yard I try to envision the house and yard at various times of the year. You%26#039;ll want to have some conifers and evergreen plants so that in the long winter months you still enjoy your view from the indoors. ( My husband says I just did that so I could decorate them for the holidays.) The type temperatures and rainfall in your region will also determine which plants will survive, so first learn what planting zone you%26#039;re in.
I%26#039;m blessed with a rather large space to work with so I have shade gardens around my trees with confederate jasmine as ground cover, hostas and different varieties of ferns and something called a cast iron plant (which stays in good shape all winter) around my trees. I used holly, lorapetilum and boxwood next to the house to accent the color of the siding, trim and roof color as they keep their color in the winter. I also used some japanese maples whose leaves are inged with reddish purple during the spring and summer and are a beautiful burgandy color in the fall (and are beautiful with the rust colored mums that bloom then). During the spring, there are crepe myrtles, spirea and azaleasthat bloom about the same time the daffodils, lilys and paperwhites come up. As they all loose their flowers, the crepe myrtles bloom and plox, verbena and other perenials start to bloom in their beds. The kitchen garden off the patio is filled with herbs, lavendar, etc, that are also perenials.
Point is, gardening is an ongoing process. If you plant perenials, they multiply and fill in spaces each year so in a couple of years everything will be well established. Choose your anchor plants and shrubs wisely for low maintainance and this too will benefit you.
My favorite place is what my grandson calls mimi%26#039;s secret garden. It%26#039;s off to the back of the yard near the woods and since it%26#039;s in a partially shaded area, I%26#039;ve used all white flowers there...azaleas. spirea, narcissus, lilys of the valley, moss covered rocks and pots, ferns, confederate jasmine, honeysuckle, moon flowers covering an arbor and a night-blooming angel trumpet with white flowers. There%26#039;s a sweet potato vine that has a chartreuse green leaf that pops with all the other dark foliage. This is where my swing is so I can go thru seed catalogs and critique the work I%26#039;ve done and dream about the next project. It%26#039;s awesome on nights when there%26#039;s a full moon because all the flowers seem to glow.
Hope this has given you some ideas for your gardens and yards and that you get as much enjoyment out of yours as I have.
Reply:Perennials, perennials, perennials! You can%26#039;t go wrong with them. Your garden will look sparse and bare this year, because you don%26#039;t want to over plant or plant too close. But, next year it will look wonderful and will only get better year after year.
Day lilies are wonderful...they spread at a decent rate and look great. You get nice greenery in the spring time and then bright flowers late June to mid July and they come in many different colors. Typical colors are yellow and orange.
Your best bet would be to go to a local nursery or garden center and talk to one of their specialists. Make sure you go with the right information - soil type (sandy, clay, etc), soil drainage and the amount of sun/shade the area gets where you want to plant. There are many options for full sun and partial sun. Not as many choices for full shade.
Best of all, it%26#039;s your yard...experiment and try new things. Go with things that appeal to you! :) Have fun!
Reply:Japanese Maple are beautiful. Never do a rock garden they are hideous!!
Reply:Hostas usually work well along walkways or driveways, they grow to be pretty full by the end of summer so plan for the room

Mystery flower?
I purchased some hanging flower baskets with no name of the flower on them. They are daisy shaped pink and purple with yellow centres about half the size of daisies. The stems are about two feet long and hang over the side of the basket. Anyone have a clue what they are and how to look after them?
Mystery flower?
Maybe they are Asters.

A friend who owns a flower shop died yesterday. Where do I get the funeral arrangement?
I been buying flowers every saturday from this local family owned flower shop for the past fifteen years or so. Throughout the course of my purchasing at the flower shop the owner and I have became close friends. She passed away yesterday. Should I send a funeral arrangement from their own shop or from another? Let%26#039;s face it, people notice these things even in times of mourning. You may ask yourself, Don%26#039;t you think they%26#039;ll be too busy planning the funeral to be worried about your stupid arrangement? They have workers, other than the immediate family that assist in putting the arrangements together. I%26#039;m in a pickle!
A friend who owns a flower shop died yesterday. Where do I get the funeral arrangement?
That really is a tough one, because you don%26#039;t know which way the family will feel about it. Either they%26#039;ll be too worried or hassled or feel that you%26#039;re unsympathetic if you order from them, yet if you order from somewhere else, you%26#039;re giving another business money and they may feel insulted that for the one time you%26#039;re buying FOR them, you didn%26#039;t get it FROM them.
Honestly, I think the former is much more likely. Get it from somewhere else, because they may just feel extra pressure in a time of mourning to make a flower arrangement for THEMSELVES. Ask a friend who lives nearby where they usually get flowers, and if it%26#039;s a good place.
I%26#039;m so sorry for your loss. Feel better and good luck!

What time of year is best to buy and plant annuals?
I%26#039;ve had the same old annuals going throughout my yard for the past several years. They are becoming poor quality and smallish; producing little plant growth and even fewer blossoms. It%26#039;s definitely time for something new. Right now I have in some daffodils, tulips, and some other small purple flower that I can%26#039;t remember the name of. I%26#039;m thinking of getting new flowers, but still buying similar species. When is the right time to buy and plant these types of blooms? It seems logical to purchase the actual flower (potted) in spring, when the flowers are in growth, but I%26#039;ve also heard of buying the seeds in fall and planting them so that they%26#039;ll appear the next spring. Help?!
What time of year is best to buy and plant annuals?
You%26#039;ll get the best looking annuals right at planting season in your area. Don%26#039;t put in the ground until you%26#039;re sure you%26#039;ve had the last frost. If you already planted them, cover them at night with an old towel. Just remove the towel in the morning. If you%26#039;ve been planting the same annuals each year, your soil, or the plants by have a fungus. Home centers usually buy in bulk and most of the plants get leggy and look sick by the middle of summer. (I love impatients but last year, they just looked sick.) Make sure you give your annuals fertilizer, especially the ones that encourage blooming. One good thing about annuals is they can take abuse. You can break of a stem, put it in the soil, keep it watered, and within a few days, it has already got roots.
If you want tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinth, etc for the spring you have to buy the bulbs in the fall. Around September-November they are usually on the market. They can be planted through late winter, as long as you can work the soil. Good Luck.
Reply:May is the best time, usually after %26quot;Mothers Day%26quot;
Reply:Now is the time to plant annuals where you live. However I hear you are having some snow this weekend, so you might want to wait another week or so.
You cannot buy spring annuals in the fall. It%26#039;s too cold where you live to overwinter them. You can, however, plant tulips, daffs, crocuses in the fall and enjoy them in the spring.
Reply:mid may is a good time maybe late may or early june so that way they wont die from a rare frost
also put them in decorative pots.
use miracle gro which is a common plant food. it works really well. just wait about 3 weeks for results
Reply:The small purple flower is either a crocus (looks like a mini tulip) or a wind flower ( looks like a tiny daisy)

Planting seeds in the fall works but I%26#039;ve only had the morning glories do this repeatedly and I live in Michigan...zone 5. I have also known more perennials to drop seed and regrow in spring that way as well. It happens with some annuals here and there like allysum, but to answer the question as to when, your zone is probably 6? My planting time is mid May - yours may be early to mid May.
I grow impatiens for shade areas - they fill in nicely, and petunias, geraniums, salvia......to name a few in the sunny ones.
I grow my seeds indoors in March to be ready for May.
www.parkseed.com has many varieties for your home - you%26#039;ll like this site very much.

How many stems do I need???
I am going to be using calla lilies in my wedding. For my bouquet, bridesmaid%26#039;s, boutineers, ceremony and reception decoration... everything. How many stems do I need? I am going to use mini callas for the bridesmaids and boutineers, big callas for my bouquet and a mix for the rest of the decorations. We are having four attendants on each side and then an additional 15 boutinees.corsages for close family members. I just want to get an idea of how many stems I need because I am looking into purchasing my flowers wholesale and doinf it myself... I just don%26#039;t know where to start!
How many stems do I need???
I understand your situation. I am using tulips for my wedding in three weeks. I found a place online that sells them for really cheap. I figured 10 stems for my bouquet (but I dont want anything huge) and 7 for each bridesmaid. I figured one for each boutineere and two for each corsage. As far as the rest of your decorations, I dont know what you have in mind so I%26#039;m not sure what to tell you. Try to decide on specific decorations and figure out how many flowers you%26#039;ll need. I%26#039;m using silk flowers for the decorations because we%26#039;re decroating two days before so I%26#039;ll not be stressed out the day of the wedding. Also, they place will ship my tulips to me to arrive the day before with care instructions. I%26#039;ll put them in clean water and leave them in the fridge for abotu 4 hours, then make them the night before. Hope that helps. Calla Lillies are very expensive. However so are tulips (and they%26#039;re almost impossible to find this time of year, so they%26#039;re being shipped from the Netherlands). I%26#039;m paying $140 for 100 tulips. I%26#039;d search for a similar deal.
Reply:I would go buy a few silk flowers like the ones you will be using. Try the different styles of bouquets you will be using and write down how many you think looks good in your bouquet, the bridesmaids, etc. Then that should give you a pretty accurate count of the ones you will need and then order a dozen or so more just in case a few don%26#039;t look so spiffy. Congratulations!
Reply:Because calla lilies are somewhat large and long, keep it simple for your bouquet. Maybe have 7 of them. Remember, it must be an odd number - they will photograph better.

Serious issues?
My ex-fiance%26#039; and I have been down quite the rocky road recently. I asked her to marry me in Feb 2006. She said yes and we were on our way to a wonderful life. Then reality set in. She decided our first date was not going to work because she was trying to finish school, so she set another date. Later she tells me that she doesnt know if she is ready to be the wife I deserve (her words not mine). So we decided to give it some time and just be happy being together. Then she decides that 08/08/08 was a perfect date and she was ready to be my wife. So I purchased the flowers, photographer, the cake, and paid for the church. She was elated! She called her Mom and her friends, it was exciting. Then a WEEK later she leaves me and says she is not ready......AGAIN!!! She tells me she wants to get her $hit straight before she can be a good wife. She says she wants to work on things between us. I am sorry but I didnt think our relationship was that bad, but I guess she did. So heres the question.
Serious issues?
It sounds like she is afraid of commitment. It would help if the two of you got couples concealing and find out what her fears are. This would help either on of you to make a decision on weather your future is together or apart. Good luck, it sounds like you love her very much.
Reply:I would hire a PI and find out what is really going on. It%26#039;s not something I%26#039;ve done but seriously, I can%26#039;t understand her logic. Is there any hint of someone else?

How big a building to run a flower/gift shop?
I have just purchased a flower/gift shop and am wanting to run it out of my home, how big a space do I need?
How big a building to run a flower/gift shop?
Congratulations on the flower shop! You do not need much space as I imagine a lot of your sales will come over the telephone. Do you deliver? A friend of mine runs a tiny flower shop. Customers order floral arrangements, leave a deposit and pick them up later. He has large photos of the arrangements he creates. He keeps a limited popular flowers on hand in the shop.
Hope this helps.

What would cause newly repotted plants to die suddenly?
I purchased mini flower kits from buzzyseeds. They come with a mini pot, compressed dirt, and seeds. I planted them per the instructions and they began to sprout above the dirt within a week. Now they have gotten too big for the tiny pots. I transferred them to a slightly larger pot with Miracle Gro Moture Control Potting Soil. They were watered well, and seemed okay. It is now two days later and many of the shoots are slumped over. What did I do wrong? This is my first attempt at growing anything. The flowers are marigolds, daisies, and mini sunflowers each kind in their own pot, 10 seeds per pot.
What would cause newly repotted plants to die suddenly?
I%26#039;m not an expert but from my experience with repotting plants I can say it could be a number of things. Are they in a different location verses where you had the smaller pots? Too much sun too soon will do this as will temperature changes. If you went up to a much larger pot, some plants don%26#039;t like too much room too fast but I%26#039;m not sure about what you%26#039;ve planted. If the soil is too wet they will also wilt over.
Reply:when you repotted did you pull out the compressed soil with the root ball and put the whole thing in the new soil. Some plants have a little shock when transplanting but if you didn%26#039;t tear up the root ball it should perk back up.
Reply:Give them a few more days and they will perk up again. If you were pulled up by the roots i think you%26#039;d slump over too. Did you leave a ball of soil around the root? If not thats the trouble.
Reply:DO YOU SMOKE? We found that smokers can kill young plants and even gold fish, just by handling them. Nicotine is poisonous and touching small delicate things with Smokers hands will kill.
Reply:they may be in shock from the transfer. be careful not to over-water them and give them a few more days, even a week and a little TLC and they%26#039;ll snap back.
Reply:Often newly transplanted seedlings experience shock for a few days, but they soon catch up. As long as they aren%26#039;t turning mushy or yellow or brown and drying up, your plants are alive. Be sure they%26#039;re getting the light exposure suggested on the original packaging.
If the plants are turning mushy or the stems appear to be deteriorating at or near the dirt, they%26#039;ve been overwatered. There is nothing you can really do to reverse that. They will die.

My brother did'nt give me anything for the birth of my baby...?
its been almost a year. A week after my baby was born he visited me at home and did%26#039;nt bring me or anybody anything. I did%26#039;nt receive a greeting card nor flowers. I know he did%26#039;nt forget cause one of my relatives asked him to pitch in with a bigger gift and he never got back with him.
What the f is wrong with him? I even purchased a flower arrangement for his girlfriend who was in the hospital, during the time I was pregnant.
Now I%26#039;m wondering wether I should tell him that I%26#039;m kinda mad at him -and why- or just leave it at that??
Forgiving is out of the question....
My brother did%26#039;nt give me anything for the birth of my baby...?
I would let it go.you say the baby is almost a year old.send him an invite to first birthday and jot down a couple toys she may like as %26#039;suggestions%26#039; of a gift he may like to get her.
Most guys dont think about gift giving.dont be angry at him as it is a guy thing. They also dont think to much about cards......a suggestion would be to give him a calender with the families birthdays, anniversaries etc.It will then be up to him to check the calander for any upcomming events.
Reply:A gift is given from the heart not something you demand or command from someone. His heart just isnt interested. I dont think this is worth being mad about. Many guys are like this.
Reply:Then never speak to him again.
Reply:Was he previously known to be a big gift giver? If not, you are expecting too much. There is no obligation on anyone to give someone else a gift, and guys are least likely to give gifts--and probably the last gift they would give is a gift for having a baby. Maybe he does not have lots of excess money either, and people tend to expect things from everyone whether they can afford it or not. Let it go, nothing to anguish over, so he did not get you a present. Big deal. Lots more important things in life to sweat about.
Reply:What the F is wrong with you??? U at least have family that was there on your special occasions. If you want material things go shopping. Many people have no one in there familys left on this earth. Stop being a materalistic self centered spoiled brat %26amp; get over yourself, If you want to report me for stating the truth go for it. He gave u his time %26amp; showed up. Be gratefull
Reply:I%26#039;d suggest telling him that you%26#039;re upset with him because of him not giving a gift or even just a simple card to you or for the baby.. Remind him about the fact that you gave his g/f a girt when you were in the HOSPITAL PREGNANT EXPECTING THE BABY..
Reply:brothers can be a jerk...just let it go and don%26#039;t do anything for him in the future

I have 2 brothers, I%26#039;ve been married twice and neither of my brothers were at either of my weddings, which suited me because I never invited them anyway.
Family sucks, you can pick your friends but not your family members, so I keep my contact with my family to a minimum.
I%26#039;m pregnant with my first child, don%26#039;t want or expect anything from my brothers when my baby is born, they won%26#039;t be invited to the christening and that will suit everybody fine.

John would also like to keep track of his personal and professional finances, listen to the audition recordings of session musicians interested in playing with him on his album, and have access to the Internet. What IT recommendations would you make for John?

She needs to consult an IT person to build her a kind of software to process the business as she wishes!! the software will facilitates the work by allowing clients to process their order on line. She will not need to stay on the phone for orders as everything will performed by the software!!
Good luck

The other women...?
My husband has twins from a previous relationship. We have been married for 7 years now but on mothers day and other occasions he sends her flowers without me knowing. Should I be jealous or just leave it alone? I let him know after I found a credit card statement for flower purchases and told him to just send her a card instead and to please let me know but he got all defensive...should I be worried?
The other women...?
you knew he had twins before you got married. i assume you understand where babies come from, so why are you upset that he still acknowledges his children%26#039;s mother? i think it shows that he is a thoughtful, stand-up guy who wants his children to know that he values their mother. you are acting like a child. be happy that you have such a considerate, mature man. why would you want him to downgrade the gift to a card? that is really petty of you. you have the man, a card or flowers doesn%26#039;t change that. she%26#039;s the mother of his children, and he still appreciates that. if you two ever break up, wouldn%26#039;t you still want him to acknowledge that you gave birth to any children you may have together? grow up, stop pouting, and apologize.
btw, he probably hid it because you knows how jealous and insecure you are and that you would freak out and throw a little fit about it. turns out...he was right.

Reply:You said OUR money...so he has just as much right to spend it as you do. I think it%26#039;s classy and respectful that he still acknowledges his ex%26#039;s role in creating those children. As long as he%26#039;s not intimately involved with her, what%26#039;s the big deal?? Would you rather he be harsh and rude to her?
Reply:She%26#039;s still the mother of his children.
He%26#039;s not sending roses, is he?
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t like it but he has a kid with her maybe not the flowers but a card would be OK I guess you did the right thing I%26#039;m sure its fine hes with you not her
Reply:You should just leave it alone! SHE is the Mother of his children and the gesture he is making is out of respect for her position. He is doing a very good thing, not only because he%26#039;s obviously a class act but because it shows his children that he still respects their Mother.
Your confrontations are going to cause nothing but trouble and if your reactions to things he does independent of you is this latest reaction, then you are going to cause a tension that will only become resented by him and he%26#039;ll be sure to keep you in the dark in other areas as well.
Contrary to popular belief, when you marry another person, you don%26#039;t give up your independence all the way. One of the main components in a marriage is Trust. You might need to work on that. Do you really think it%26#039;s your place to tell him what to give the mother of his children for Mother%26#039;s Day? He is not a child. If he wants to spend $50 on flowers it is his choice.
There is nothing to be jealous of. you should appreciate the fact that he is sweet enough to recognize her for giving him his children.
I would apologize for getting upset and then ask that he just tell you about stuff like that in the future. That you won%26#039;t get mad, but you would like to be included.

Also, no one else seem to acknowledge the fact that he sends her flowers on OTHER OCCASSIONS as well. You need to put a stop to that.
Reply:Sounds like you married a very nice considerate man... what%26#039;s the problem?
Reply:I would be upset if I found out my present was making purchases for his X. In situations like that, I think that the spouse should always be aware of what%26#039;s going on because it doesn%26#039;t leave any room for speculation. I have children, and their father has remarried, he and I don%26#039;t exchange any gifts except on Mother%26#039;s day and Father%26#039;s day out of respect for one another. It%26#039;s usually a card and a small gift honoring him as the father of my children and vice versa for me. When you do things for the X%26#039;s in secret, it looks as though you are hiding something.
Reply:I think its wrong for him to send her a gift unless it is supposed to be from her kids but of course he has to buy them. If it is directly from him then that%26#039;s wrong she isn%26#039;t his mom to be pampering. If it bothers you ask that he tries to not spend money on a gift even if it is from their children. Maybe the kids can make their own home-made cards or something?
Reply:She produced his children. Gotta show her some respect. How do you know he doesn%26#039;t send the flowers on behalf of the kids?
Reply:you should not be jealous, the woman is a mother because of him....it only seems right that he would send her flowers. Because even if he is not with her i am sure he is still proud of what they created together

At a Lancome store, there is a wall covered with rosebuds. Any idea how I could recreate this effect at home?
I would like to recreate a design I saw in a store at a local mall. At a Lancome store there is a wall covered with pink rosebuds, like a wallpaper made of roses. I would like to cover a small wall in my bathroom in a similar fashion. Maybe with silk roses? Any idea of how I can recreate this? Where to purchase the flowers and how to apply to the wall so that they don%26#039;t fall off? Any creative ideas welcome!
At a Lancome store, there is a wall covered with rosebuds. Any idea how I could recreate this effect at home?
I would reccomend using silk flowers from any craft store. Start buying now and use those cupons because those flowers are not cheap. (I used to work at a Michaels, I know)Then depending on the room you are doing this in use either hot glue or E-600. Either one is fine but the E-6000 is made to hold pretty much anything to anything and doesn%26#039;t require a cord or heat to use. Just be sure to wear a mask and open some windows when using it.
As was stated before, this will be a major repair to take down so be sure you love it before you do it. Good Luck!
Reply:well you could take a pix of a bunch of roses and take that to a photocopy store and have them print off a bunch on thick paper then paste them like wallpaper instead of hotglueing bizilions of roses to your walls.
Reply:I think one of the first episodes I ever watched of a program called trading spaces was one in which the designer had huge trashbags full of silk flowers which they proceeded to hot glue to the wall until the entire thing was covered. I think this is the same thing you were asking about. Just remember when you try to remove these from the wall later, you are going to pull off the paint, paper down to the actual sheetrock and this is going to create a major repair job.

Anyone in the Boston area know of a florist that has cheap prices?
I%26#039;m mostly looking to purchase the flowers and my mom-in-law to be will be doing the arrangements. The main flowers will be calla lillies and roses. My wedding is in November. Anywhere in the Boston area or even in Southern New Hampshire would be fine.
Anyone in the Boston area know of a florist that has cheap prices?
I suggest visiting weddinglenox.com and post your request. Their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/membersignup... will match you up with local vendors with pricing you specified. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved response from vendors according to my request.
One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that%26#039;s too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.
The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

I'd like info on Bak Flower and the essences you add to it?
What I%26#039;m interested in knowing, is how Bak Flower is used to help with irritability, anxiety, mood lifting, and also about essences you add to it, what kind and what different essences do for you. Do you purchase Bak Flower in large quantities, or what would be a typical dosage?
I%26#039;d like info on Bak Flower and the essences you add to it?
Bach flower remedies come in several different flower essences, each for a particular emotional state. You purchase the essence you need and a 30ml (about 1 ounce)mixing bottle. You add just two drops of each remedy to the bottle then fill with bottled mineral water and take four drops of the mixture four times daily. Most health food stores sell the Bach remedies, or you can buy them on-line. They are shelf-stable until you dilute them for use.
Here is a link to the Bach site, where you%26#039;ll find links to each emotional state and the flower essence they recommend. It is a very thorough site.
http://www.bachcentre.com/centre/remedie...
For depression, it could be Agrimony or Crab Apple or Gentian or Elm or most likely Gorse you need. You might even decide that you need several. You will just have to interpret your feelings with the help of Dr. Bach%26#039;s guide. Take your time and explore your feelings.
Reply:It is known as Bach Flower Essences.

Is there a flower that looks similar to the daisy?
I purchased purple flowers (with daisy petals) but the center is not yellow, but black with a yellow circle surrounding it. Is this a daisy?
Is there a flower that looks similar to the daisy?
yep.. I think that%26#039;s an african daisy.... osteospermum. they come in purple, pink, white and yellow. the purple and white ones have dark centers. Love %26#039;em!
Reply:The daisy is part of the Rudebackia family of plants. They come in many forms, colors, and shapes. Go to your local library or nursery and look for Wyman%26#039;s Garden Ency. It contains a wide source of info on the daisy family. Good Luck.

What flowering perennial is used for treatment of cancer?
you can purchase this flower at Home Depot. But I failed to remember the time of year
What flowering perennial is used for treatment of cancer?
Cancer is not to be treated with medicines purchased across the counter.
Kindly click on the link below to learn about different types of cancers.
Each requires different treatment / medicines.

Reply:Vincristine is a cancer treatment derived from the vinca plant.
I hope this is just a homework question or curiosity. I wouldn%26#039;t try making some at home, if that%26#039;s why you%26#039;re mentioning you can get the flower at Home Depot. You can%26#039;t just eat the plant--the active compound has to be isolated and purified (because other compounds in the plant may be harmful). Also, cancer treatments need to be matched very precisely to the type of tumor and its characteristics. Taking the wrong medicine could make it worse, or just waste time while the cancer spreads through the body.

I wrote advertisment for my company on a catalogue, so could you please help me to correct or make it better?
Hmm, I think that you have included way too much detail for an advertising feature. Obviously, it depends on where your ad is to be placed. If it goes in a general publication, then yes it is way too detailed. If it goes into a specialist journal, it is OK but stilla little wordy.
Ads are to get people interested in your company and it%26#039;s products. You%26#039;ve got to grab their attention and keep it. Think what the main issues are and stick to them. Is there anything your company does that others don%26#039;t? Does your company offer better value for money than elsewhere? Do you provide a very high quality service over and above the normal level expected? These are the things that will get you noticed above the others.
Hope this helps! If you did just want the above ad checking over and correcting (grammatically and spelling wise) please feel free to email me!

Reply:Hi,
You know it is hard to understand what is a category you aim to. Do you want to sell your company? If you want to sell flowers then I think this advertisement does not work well.
I guess you look for B2B. Then probably you might want to mention a yearly turnover, market share, competitive prices and payment conditions - something what is gonna be good for your buyer/client. But flowers usually grow not produce, maybe I am wrong.

Southern Kentucky...how often can I 'Miracle Grow' my shrubs/flowers?
I just purchased some dwarf barberry plants, petunias, a burning bush, hostas, and others. I bought very small shrubs for the sole purpose of saving money. How often can I safely put Miracle Grow on my plants without hurting them somehow? I know NOTHING about plants. Thanks for the help!
Southern Kentucky...how often can I %26#039;Miracle Grow%26#039; my shrubs/flowers?
every week or two
everyday would get expensive
you would be wasting it if you did it more often

Reply:miracle grow fertilizer ? you can use that every time you water which should only be about every 5 days since you live in southern kentucky i imagine it is getting warm there . I would reccomend watering every 5 days in hot weather ,. good luck and I hope I helped.
Reply:all day every day., mgrow will not burn anyting.
read the pack. is will not promote seeding/fruiting but will promote fowlage. (leaves and branches)
just don%26#039;t mix it any stronger than the box says and you will be fine.

What is the best way to preserve very old pressed flowers?
Some time ago I purchased a bible at a flea market. It was given to an 8-year-old girl in 1910 and inside I recently discovered 12 four-leaf clovers. Nine of them have remained in tack. The other three have broken apart and the leaves have shredded. How can I preserve them remaining?
My father and grandfather used to put four-cleaf clovers on a piece of wood with an Irish good luck saying and varnish over the entire thing. The four-leaf clovers remained a vibrant green.
I don%26#039;t think this will work since the pedals are already so delicate. I would like to lay them on a piece of paper with the information about them but I don%26#039;t know if having them against the glass will further deteriorate them or if maybe a piece of vellum against the glass is the way to go.
Please help, I truly believe things like these should be treasured. Thank you!
What is the best way to preserve very old pressed flowers?
How about trying 2 sheets of very thin acrylic. Or cellophane, you could buy that in stationery shop.
Reply:Maybe you could use a spray varnish on the remaining four leaf clover, if there is such a thing, then purchase a laminating kit (Wal * Mart) %26amp; seal them inside. The kits come in many sizes %26amp; you could insert the info inside as well. I agree with you, such things should be treasured always!!! :)
**I like artgal12%26#039;s advice too**
Reply:You could try placing them between two plates of plexiglass then seal the edges with something that will create an air tight seal.
Reply:Mama always pressed them between waxed paper in the Family Bible. Seems like she pressed the petals flat with a warm iron, I guess to put the wax on them, you could try something else and attemp clear spray varnish on velum maybe just to see if it would work. mabe you could melt wax and pour it over them or the gel stuff you make candles out of. That might be a good idea! put it in a glass and pour the gel candle stuff around it; you would have it suspended and keep it pretty at the same time. Good luck and let me know what works. You can email me. okay

I would like to purchase Kanzashi hair pins. I'm not even sure of the proper name!?
They are generally used in flower kanzashi and sometimes i%26#039;ve read them referred to as Hair forks, but they are made out of wire, look like a long upsidedown %26quot;U%26quot;, and sometimes they are wavy. I have spent 14 hours online (yes 14 hours) and still no luck. I%26#039;ve tried reading a few tutorials, watching an online film tutorial, reading message boards, I%26#039;ve searched Kanzashi parts, Kanzashi supplies, K-crafts, K-hair forks, K-silver hair pins, silver hair forks, WIRE hair forks, Wire pin components, K-componants--------------HHHHHHHHHHHEEE...

Reply:i bought some at walmart. didn%26#039;t know that%26#039;s what they were called. it was part of a pack of hair pins to make different hair styles with.

Where can i purchase rolls of grass for my lawn?
I%26#039;ve decided that i want to rip up the flower bed in my front yard. I would like to find rolls of green grass that i can just unroll and lay down on the ground. I want the kind that is already grown. Do you know where i can find this and how much it would be?
Where can i purchase rolls of grass for my lawn?
u buy sod where every they sell plants for inground. Like poss. Home Depot... Lowes... Any nursery... then after u lay it down... u need to water the heck of it so it will take. U may want to wait til Fall so that it will take better than w/ the heat.
Reply:Its called sod. It is kind of expensive but go somewhere like a fruit stand or something. These big home centers have crappy sod because they do not know how to properly take care of it.
Turn the soil before you lay the sod so it gets good contact and also cut the sod into two foot sections and lay it in a broken pattern. Next fall aerate the sod so that it does not become soggy and grow mushrooms.
Reply:It%26#039;s called sod and can be found at all garden centers.
Reply:if you have a home depot or a seres you can buy a lot there.
Reply:You sure can find it. Any sod farm or landscaping company should have this. Now - whether or not you can afford to buy it or not depends on how much money you have. It is definately NOT cheap. As far as I know this is the only way to get grass that is all ready grown. They do have seed mats with grass seed impregnated. With this kind of item - you roll it out and keep it watered and voila - grass!! I think that if money and budget is a concern, I would opt for this instead of the grass sod. A LOT cheaper to do.
Decisions, decisions
Choice #1 - call locally in your area to landscapers and get prices on laying the sod. Then go to the bank and take out a loan.
Choice #2 - call Lowe%26#039;s , Home Depot, etc in your area and get prices of the roll out grass seed lawn and go pick it up and bring it home. Say prayers that it grows all right.
Glad I could help you.

Where can I purchase some porcelain state thimbles. They must have a metal state shield on them.?
These thimbles have either a flower, animal or something of this sort on them, but the metal plate is a must. I have collected these for many years but now it is hard to find the ones I still need.
Where can I purchase some porcelain state thimbles. They must have a metal state shield on them.?
Try the website below.
When I was in college, I had a land lord who collected bells from each state he had visited. He has a bell from 48 states at that time. He only needed one from Hawaii and Michigan. We were from MI, so we picked him one up on a trip back home. Don%26#039;t know if he ever got to Hawaii.
Reply:one usually sees them at gift shops but only for the state they%26#039;re in. or contact a gift shop and inquire who their distributer is. But to me thats like cheating.

Can you grow roll out flowers on grass?
im thinking bout purchasing one of those instant gardens that u jus roll out and water. do i need to dig up the grass in the area i will plant in? or can i jus put it right over the grass, the mat i mean.
Can you grow roll out flowers on grass?
I hate to sound negative about this, but I was just like you, once, and couldn%26#039;t wait to get an instant flower garden by this roll-out-and-water thing! Sounded too good to be true.............
and for me, anyway, it was. Followed directions to the letter, but nothing came up. Well, that%26#039;s not true--------a few sickly looking little stalks did emerge, but they died quickly and that was all I got!
Hope you have better luck!
Reply:It%26#039;s a big no no. The mat needs a good contact with the planting soil to be able to germinate. To avoid digging the grass out for your flowers, why don%26#039;t you just get some big planters then cut the mat to fit. Also have someone build you a box, 6 inch deep, 1 feet wide and match the length of the mat and put it where you want it. Fill it up with 1/3 peat, 1/3 vermiculite, and 1/3 mixture of five different compost and manure. If you follow this mixture what you have to do only is water. No more fertilisers, and you%26#039;ll have the best flower bed ever.
It%26#039;s true, the first answerer%26#039;s are right. The mat are not a good choice. I tried and only few came up. Get some in the pockets instead, it%26#039;s more certified.
Reply:if I remember right the roll out is not carpet... the seeds are on will on act as a starter... they need dirt to keep the roots cool and wet... you need to dig the dirt for them
Reply:they dont work they dont
they waste your money not one stupid seed grew into a flower fully most didn%26#039;t germinate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Waste of money. I tried one of those and I got like 2 flowers out of it. It%26#039;s nothing but a bunch of flower seeds somewhat evenly distributed. In any case, you will need to prep your soil, and that means removing grass and other plants and digging at least 2 inches deep. Purchasing a flower seed mix for $5 is a much better buy. Even better is to get some perennials and plant them -- if you%26#039;re on a budget, ask around your neighbourhood or put a %26#039;wanted%26#039; poster on craigslist. I have people that help me weed, etc. all the time. In return, I give them plants.

What do flowers signify to you?
If red roses signify maturity in romance, I would rather have a daisy chain. Roses are easily purchased full of thorns and not worth the wait. A daisy chain is picked made with intricate effort, thought, deliberate meaning and placed around the neck sensuously signifying simplicity and response of feeling. Give me the immature response every time.
Now wild roses are another subject.
